We are excited to announce our next club meeting, scheduled for Thursday, September 19th at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Canton Moose Lodge, located at 278 Moose Loop Rd, Canton, GA 30114.
This month, our focus will be on APITHERAPY (bee sting therapy). Apitherapy is an alternative therapy that uses honey bee products and/or honey bee stings and has several potential benefits, including but not limited to:
- Reduced inflammation: Bee venom is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties that can help with conditions like arthritis and chronic pain.
- Improved circulation: Apitherapy may help improve circulation.
- Stimulated immune system: Bee venom may help boost the immune system.
- Improved oral hygiene: Apitherapy may help improve oral hygiene.
- Reduced hay fever symptoms: Apitherapy may help reduce hay fever symptoms.
- Wound treatment: Honey has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and pain-relieving properties that can help treat wounds and burns.
- Potential treatment for some neurological conditions: Bee venom contains peptides and enzymes that may help treat central nervous system diseases like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and multiple sclerosis (MS).
- Potential treatment for Lyme disease: Bee venom may have antimicrobial properties that are effective against Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.
- Potential treatment for cardiovascular diseases: A combination of PRV (propolis, royal jelly, and honey bee venom) therapy may be a potential treatment for cardiovascular diseases.
***Apitherapy can have serious side effects, so it’s important to consult a trained medical professional before trying it.***
Your participation is invaluable as we share insights, strategies, and support for each other in the beekeeping realm.
Please bring any questions or concerns you may have so we can address them during the discussion.
We look forward to seeing you there and working together to ensure our bees are well-prepared for the season ahead.
