Want to learn to keep honeybees alive?
Want to learn how to evaluate information and the beehive?
Want to get good and complete information for our area from trusted and experienced beekeepers?
The Cherokee Beekeepers Club and local beekeepers (Jason Segers, and BJ Weeks) are hosting a multi-evening course on beekeeping for beginning beekeepers. The course will cover getting started, building equipment, understanding bee pests, medications, strategies for keeping bees, producing, and extracting honey. A strong emphasis will be on understanding the bees and processes involved. The class will finish with a daytime hands-on workshop in the bees. This is a class for beginners who wish to understand and start keeping honeybees. The class is an annual event started in 1997. Understanding the motivations of the bees enables us to continue learning and effectively work with the bees.
**Bees can be ordered during the class for spring 2025.
