Felony charges for accused honeybee hive thieves

The men accused of heading up an operation to steal and re-sell beehives, Pavel Tveretinov and Vitaliy Yeroshenko, 48, have been charged with nine felony counts of receiving stolen property and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property, the LA Times reports.

The beehives were stolen from 10 beekeepers over two years, the LA Times reports. Most of the stolen hives were from out-of-state beekeepers who rented their colonies to growers to pollinate their crops.
